The Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations (KFTA, Korean: 한국교원단체총연합회) is the largest and most traditional professional organization and teacher union in South Korea with over 170,000 members. This means that 40% of Korean teachers are KFTA members. The KFTA member is made up of school teachers, college professors and prospective teachers.
The organization was first established in 1947 as the Joseon Education Association, a year before the establishment of the Korean government. Since then, the main goals of the organization are quality public education and the professionalism of teachers.
